Welcome to SLAP! Student Laptop Access Program
OUR MISSION is to support equity in education and bridge Kingston's digital divide by providing affordable or fully-sponsored (free) laptops to disadvantaged students who need them to learn and reach their full potential.

Replacing it independently is challenging, and access to a dependable laptop would have a meaningful impact on my ability to keep up with my academic responsibilities.
I truly admire the thoughtful work you and your team are doing to support students, and I wish you the best of luck with the current and upcoming grant applications. I can only imagine how much coordination and effort this requires.
I also wanted to gently share my situation, in case it may be relevant for any future consideration. I am a graduate student, and my research work depends heavily on having consistent access to a computer. Having a laptop would make a significant difference for me, as it would allow me to work from home—particularly during the winter months—and reduce the need to travel to campus daily just to access a desktop.
I completely understand the limitations and the waitlist, and I truly appreciate everything you’re doing. I simply wanted to share my circumstances in case they are helpful in any prioritization decisions.
